Never trapped them but have someone that wants them gone. What type of traps are best? do baits work and also what is the current charge for removing them? is it by the animal, the hole or acre. Any and all advice is welcome. I have done damage control for predators, birds and beaver but not pocket gophers. Maybe watch Caddy Shack again LOL

I've had my best luck with DK's and 0 LS, no bait. Local townships pay a bounty and usually ask the LO to match it. Small jobs I ask for a small set up fee to cover gas, larger jobs I wave the fee. It's just a hobby for me so you might have to adjust accordingly.

Cover the hole from sunlight, get a good probe, & look for mounds with fresh dirt. I've never used bait, but some do.

I use cinch traps and DKs. Not pleased with either but they work well. The DKs and most of the cinch traps border on too strong for me.

Teacher, I have some older DKs that are weaker and easier to set than the new ones. It doesn't seem to effect the performance of them much. Perhaps you should see if you can find some older ones to try?
