300 Blackout 125gr SST in a 300 Blackout pmag. have you tried them on any game yet. I am looking for a new bullet for the 300 BLK hunting. I had red heads they shot great very accurate , they were the V-max variety , and went all to pieces on game , never an exit .

Greencountypete I have not tried them on any game. Hopefully this summer/fall on predators. please report back if you do , the V-max 110gr even neck shot deer had no exit , those were the only deer recovered , they do you down like a ton of bricks. fragments to about 6-7 inches but nothing that will exit the hide on the far side. had a Ewe that had a stroke and had to be put down after I put her down I shot a bunch and even 5 inches of neck there was no exit on the far side with the v-max . a bunch of PD's use the V-max by their other name T.A.P urban there I can see the trade off of very limited penetration but in a hunting round I want an exit hole or I might as well go back to 223 with 55gr soft points.

please report back if you do , the V-max 110gr even neck shot deer had no exit , those were the only deer recovered , they do you down like a ton of bricks.
fragments to about 6-7 inches but nothing that will exit the hide on the far side.
had a Ewe that had a stroke and had to be put down after I put her down I shot a bunch and even 5 inches of neck there was no exit on the far side with the v-max .
a bunch of PD's use the V-max by their other name T.A.P urban there I can see the trade off of very limited penetration but in a hunting round I want an exit hole or I might as well go back to 223 with 55gr soft points.
I don't plan on using it for big game, but on predators, especially ones I want to harvest fur from, I like no exit. The 125 gr SST I would like to do a ballistics gel test on with some pork ribs in front of it to simulate coyote, wolf, lion or hogs and what the bullet will do.
