My son went out to feed the sheep....and found this. This is a first for us in 18 years...lol...ouch ! His friend came ovah to hold her....while he pulled 41 quills out...she got a shot of Banamine and Penicillin...and hydrogen peroxide....

For those who have never witnessed what the quills of these yankee devils are like, if you merely touch the end of a quill with just enough pressure to feel if they are sharp, it is already in you and does not want to come out. Once it is barely in you, it works its way deeper just from walking around.

looks like it found a small porky, they seem more aggressive than the adults in defending themselves. animals get near and they try to back into them.
