Cleaning out the shed at lake see this old wrench my brother had stashed in there. I recall it being at my father cottage brought there by my Grandfather.. I do not recall ever seeing it used and don't know what it was used for. Being it was brought to my fathers old cottage while they were building it. I can only suspect that it is intended as a adjustable pipe wrench? Yet it has no gripping groves or teeth like most pipe wrenches or channel locks. Only other thing I can think of why Grampa would had that wrench at dads cottage. Was that he used it for something on the sawmill he built and ran with dads old 8N?? Anyone have any idea if this wrench had one specific job? I was going to throw it in the scrap pile then I got another idea for it. Maybe is a priceless relic LMAO! I doubt. I know it's not like anything I ever seen used to castrate any critter?? Probably work though if adjusted right. The only mark I see on it is a raise 3 by the nut holds it together Mac

Too dull to be a pig castrator but it's a cool old tool. Maybe some sort of adjustable pipe wrench?
Eh...wot?

I have used something very similar to that when I did a spell at a black smith's place holding forgings. That way you can adjust them so they are easier to hold when clamped down on your work. It had a slightly different jaw shape if I remember right but its been a few moons ago

Or just an old version of an adjustable wrench. Yup. They sell a modern version with an infomercial. Forget what they call it, miracle wrench, or wonder wrench. Miracle if it doesn’t round off the nut or stud. Wonder which knuckle I’m gonna bust when it slips.

looks to me like it would work slick on those old square nuts

Mac If I remember right there was a big skuffle somewhere around Bemidji Mn and all those hills scattered clear across to Wisc was cause when Paul tried to castrate Blue the Ox. What a find you have there.
