My dad has a piece of sheet metal that has the IHC emblem , the DEERING emblem ,and the NewIdea emblem stamp on it. He found it in a pile of junk that had alot of riveted straps like what is left when machinery made out of wood rots down . He didnt pay much attention to what was there because he didnt realize the significance of all three insignias being present was . Does anybody have a verifiable idea when and what this could have been

Part of the mystery is deering dates it before 1922 and the new idea dates it somewhere around 1945 and after . we can find no info on when or on anything that should have deering (not mcormick deering ) and new idea at the sametime

The merger was in 1902
The Mcormick-Deering No 22 harvester- thresher 1925-1956

There is lots of stuff with mckormickdeering and new idea it came decades after the use of deering by itself fell out of favour . On the other hand deering is a different story much less somthing branded with all three insignias
