I don't think I'll ever go back to ND to trap rats so I'm going to down size my rat trapping arsenal this fall.
My main target will be coyotes with a few coon in the mix.
I have some very lucrative ADC jobs for rats and chucks so I will hit them this fall and In the spring.
I'm going to spend more time hunting the speedy beef this year.

Great haul WadeRyan,

When gearing up for a big time year, you just get 'em, skin 'em, and sell them later. Mostly get 'em. The rest happens as it will.

I miss fur trapping the Sandhills and western NE. Super folks and super fur.
Maybe, in a few years, I'll have a moment to get back to the old stomping fur grounds in Nebraska. Probably take a grandchild or two for support and for papa to teach them a couple things.

Good luck this year.
Stay safe and be blessed!
Mark

I will set a few coyote sets the first of Nov. until deer season, then pull them while the orange coats are out. Will hit em hard after that. I received permission on 3000 acres adjoining 4000 acres I got last year. That's in addition to 5000 acres spread across 6 different properties. The owner of the one tract has a beaver problem, so may try my hand at that. I have no experience trapping them, so could be interesting.

Beav you aren’t getting any younger why not go have some fun?! Mark, thanks Nebraska is really a tough state to beat with its laws and opportunities. Larry I will probably do the same. I definitely like to chase those coyotes before they’ve been pushed all over the country side by the orange army.

I’m hoping Matt makes the trip back from Indiana this year. So far I’ve got about 120 miles one way lined up. Lots of fresh country I’ve never touched before. I’m always up for a new challenge. We are looking either the end of November or maybe even the first of January. Have a deer lease in Kansas with 30,000 acres that would like some coyotes killed.

If things work out I’ll be heading to Nebraska this winter. I’m game for whatever, might try and snag a badger and a couple bobcats along with the coyotes and coon..

It’s been a (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) of a year so far, lost my mother in law and I have to be the one to tell my mother she has no business driving anymore as her vision is failing.

I’m looking forward for fall deer season. My son (15)and twin girls (13) all are wanting to hunt this year. Time definitely passes quickly and this year definitely puts that into perspective. I’m gonna enjoy their outdoor experiences in hopes that they will remember when they’ve grown.

I’m looking forward to it all and can’t wait to visit my Nebraska friends and make some more great memories!

The one good thing I can say about this year is when I’m not working I’ve been spending time with the kiddos. There for a while it was nothing but gas. Here the last few weeks I’ve been able to slow down some more. I’m still working 48-60 hours a week but when I’m home so are they. Spent the better part of two hours last night lighting sparklers and smoke bombs... they aren’t too hard to impress. Here’s a few pictures of the munchkins and I out and about from the past.

Took the mini me out exploring our pasture. He kept up. Made it across all 80 acres on his own. Not bad for four.

His sister has been on and off the line with me since she was two. She made her own trap set on the other side of the badger mound and wanted it documented.

See a lot of this kid in me. Has a lot of patience when it comes to fishing which is where I lived most of my childhood on the river. This was a good couple hours of fishing last year after a rain.

Every day when I roll in the house at 7 am he’s usually there to greet me. Sure is nice to visit with him before I crash for the day.

I said last year when things slowed down I was going to make coyote days. Scheduled myself for eight 12 hour shifts in a row but then I’m getting on the road for Lusk. Figured they couldn’t deny my vacation if I worked the entire week before. So far so good.

Good job sir!
Been a whirlwind spring for me but still planning for a fun winter ahead.
Sold my house in town, bought an acreage a little farther south. Now I can see stars again and have plenty of room to put up decent outbuilding to do some fur processing.
Got one heading off to college this fall to play baseball on the college's dime, and youngest will be finishing up middle school.
Going to be a busy year for sure but cant wait for season to get here. Got to make a lot of waxed dirt yet!

Enjoy those years, Wade. Them kiddos grow up way too fast. I have lots of great memorys, but those days are long gone. Best years of your life, for sure. See you in Aug!
