Going to look at an older sportspal canoe this evening. 13 footer, model C2P. Anything I should be on the lookout for? Seller says fair condition, pics would agree. Paint job is rough, but other than that it looks decent. Foam looks okay. Not sure if this is old enough to be a seamed body or one piece.

They are the best canoe ever! Looks like it has a trolling motor mount too, nice. Looks like it has a rib or two missing, no biggie. I'd check out the bottom real good make sure the rivets look good and it's not badly beat up. Other than that, if the price is right I'd throw it in the truck.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I would first test it on the water and see how tippy it is.

I would first test it on the water and see how tippy it is. Sportspal’s are the untippiest canoe made in my opinion, the downside is that they paddle like a a whale pregnant with quintuplets, but definitely check out the bottom and go over the foam both the inside and the sponsons, if you can throw it in the water make sure it don’t leak, they sometimes pick up small holes that hide due to the foam so they can be hard to spot

They are the best canoe ever! For some things.......other then going canoeing. Best for retrieving a duck in November, worst for tripping unless you want to fee like you're trying to navigate a tin cup.

Yes they are built for sportsmen, not Sunday canoeing on shallow rivers to have brunch lol. Plus, they haul a good weight.
