k snow OP trapper K Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 7,622 east central WI	Going to look at an older sportspal canoe this evening. 13 footer, model C2P. Anything I should be on the lookout for? Seller says fair condition, pics would agree. Paint job is rough, but other than that it looks decent. Foam looks okay. Not sure if this is old enough to be a seamed body or one piece.

Catch22 trapper Joined: Nov 2015 Posts: 16,998 OH	They are the best canoe ever! Looks like it has a trolling motor mount too, nice. Looks like it has a rib or two missing, no biggie. I'd check out the bottom real good make sure the rivets look good and it's not badly beat up. Other than that, if the price is right I'd throw it in the truck. I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

flash trapper F Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,656 smithfield, virginia	mine was made back in 76, bought in 83. {tomahawk} has been thru heck and back. helped me put many a beav and otter on the boards. yea, she can be a handful but the time an eight foot gator tried to go under in two ft of water and with a 100 # lab ready for bear i knew i`d never get rid of it. the girls fight on who gets it once i can't it out if it...... lol.

Yes they are built for sportsmen, not Sunday canoeing on shallow rivers to have brunch lol. Plus, they haul a good weight.
