Just got off the phone with GFW. They are planning to run routes and buy fur. Who knows what prices will be but I was quite concerned about LLtrappers post so I had to verify it. Glad I did. Statements like that can greatly affect someone's season. Always check things out for yourself. guess haters gonna hate

foxkid what are the furs that are worth some thing whos the buyers what are they giving are you guys tanning and making things with furs going to post pictures of your finished products are you planning on using every thing you catch are you going to tell how much you have in the products you make thanks i hate to think your killing some thing for your enjoyment Wow what a bunch of questions...... Just because I don't tell you my buyer or show you pictures of what I've done doesn't mean I'm " killing something for my enjoyment" and wasting a natural resource. Try posting that on the ADC forum and watch the responses. Predator controll is sometimes more than the fur.

I will catch and keep some of the better colored well furred raccoon, I don't plan to sell any of my tanned items because i'll more than likely utilize them in the form of blankets or mittens, etc....the beaver and coon and incidental muskrat , should i catch one, will most cert not be wasted ,,,because we utilize the meat .......our #1 job as trappers should be to serve as stewards of the outdoors and to maintain healthy populations to keep balance.........if we don't......mother nature most cert will..................and she can be most unkind.

Statements like that can greatly affect someone's season. Always check things out for yourself. https://www.gfwco.com/Very top of the web page in the middle under covid 19. I do not know why they would have that up there. It could ruin someone's season. If you are looking to sell anything other than top clean finished goods your season is over before it begins. Over half the stuff you have will be of no value and the other half will be below production costs if the producer is honest. Been doing this a long time. Hate the truth but I cannot change it. By all means trap and enjoy. LLL

I’m retiring soon and I plan to trap all I want this year. Been a long time since I wasn’t limited by vacation time. Congrats on your retirement....I'm throwing in the towel in 2 yrs myself, and like you, look forward to unfettered time on the line.

After talking to GFW, Greg S. and several others I will not be trapping any coon or other water animals except some rats. All you guys that are trapping better get with your buyer first unless you want to add shipping in with your losses. No one I have talked to will be running routes or buying green or carcass fur.
I talked to a guy who sold some rats to Chinese customers and they have been sitting in a warehouse now for six weeks. There is very few furs being dressed in the US if any. Travel ban in Canada will make it hard to have a sale in Canada.
I think deer hunting and ice fishing will be my calling this fall/ winter.
Trapping to me is like a wife who has been messing around on me the last 5 years but finally split and left me with a handful of bills. I do not wish to kill things for the fun of it. It is not fun to me. LLL Things will get better. As the old saying goes "It's always darkest before the dawn"
