"Rigged" is just an unfortunate misperception! People with money can sometimes get richer because they put their money to work. Poor people are too busy working to live and have no money to put to work. Putting money to work comes with a modicum of risk(All apologies to the screenwriter of Little Big Man)! One must only look at the example provided by innumerable professional athletes.

I don't think the working man (like coonman 220) are better off today than they were 25 years ago. I am successful and busier now than I have ever been. I have worked through all this mess and have plenty of work lined out ahead of me. However, I have a degree and multiple skill sets. I would not want to be a laborer in today's job market. The dollar of today is just not worth as much as it was 25 years ago; and the working man that is making wages on day labor is not invested in the stock market and has no idea of stocks and bonds. The whole system and value of the dollar is rigged for the upper class in my opinion.

Mind you, I am probably the most conservative person you will ever meet, but I try to live by the Golden Rule and it seems that our current monetary system benefits some and screws the eyeballs out of others.

I have to disagree with that. The word "rigged" implies that it is intentional. I don't believe that at all. What I DO believe is that the middle class, as a whole, does not have the economic literacy to understand and take advantage of the system it lives under.

Perhaps it is not intentional.

But if what you say regarding economic literacy and the middle class is true, then the reason they do not understand it is because the education system they live under does not teach it properly.

The dollar system got rigged in 1971. Next year, 2021, will be a Jubilee year since then. Who knows what awaits us.

Don't worry coonman220, you will be just fine. Others......perhaps not so much.

Here is where you and I disagree, it is intentional.

Did you see that ExxonMobil was delisted? Largest company in the world in 2013 and delisted today! Yes, life does come with a modicum of risk.

Intentional is a strong word. Rich people network, but so do poor people. People like to do business with people they know and trust. Hunter Biden is an example of people wanting to do business with someone who knows someone who can "facilitate" things. That is very different.

I think I saw stim-o-loose advertised during episodes of Gunsmoke in the 1960's. Exlax had a catchier name and won the advertising war.

LOL ! We had a gal here several years ago that liked to increase the volume in her discourse with her husband. In other words she liked to YELL.

When it gets really cold sound is magnified and easily heard many hundred yards away.
It was common to hear her "talking" to her husband !

We called her "old yeller"

Did he slap tame them before or after he roped them.
