Nothing I think worse than seeing yuppies lead blueticks around a park. Id love to see a coon run out and watch the dogs dragging yuppies around. Hunting is bred into a hunting dog.

Murphy the adventure dog is bred to herd, (red heeler) and that instinct is definitely there. He can herd the kids up well, and if he wants, you won't get past him, he'll keep you right where you are by circling and nipping (playfully). And he can grab the kids by the leg or arm and pull them down too, if he wants . He definitely has the "heeler" thing down pat. But, he's basically a lazy bum. He wastes the day away on couch watching peppa pig, princess lilifee, and my little pony. He loves it, too. He doesn't like cold weather or being wet, it hurts his little poochy feelings. He loves a life a leisure. He can go all day if needed, there's been days where he plays outside all day, and he's hiked up mountains before, and was ready for more at the top. But at the same time, he's more than happy to lay around all day sleeping once we get to where we're staying. His instincts are definitely there and can come out if needed, but he's more than happy to just be lazy all day.

If the dog is truly bred for it's purpose it will come out with exposure, no matter the age. Maybe so but to what level of performance?
