As senator, Harris's job was to represent the constituents of her state. Now, as VP-elect, she's supposed to look out for the interests of an entire nation.
Maybe they won't be as bad as feared.

Like every administration, Biden's will have only a limited amount of political capital. Biden will have to make priorities. There are other policies and programs they'll want to implement beside anti-gun legislation.
I'm hoping they'll put stuff like affordable health care ahead of gun registrations or bans. Anti-gun legislation faces a formidable barrier in the US: millions of gun owners who believe in their rights.
In other words, I hope Biden and Harris will be too busy slaying other dragons to tackle the "gun problem," as the grabbers like to call it.

I am hoping the economy doesn't crash. FDR got this communist ball rolling because of the depression. Open borders with an ever increasing welfare burden could sure enough get it done. The illegals about to pour in have nothing. A promise of government making sure everybody has a place to live and utilities will sound like manna from heaven. They will be good tools for the elite's to use. Those people are tough.
Once farms are confiscated and collectivized, rural people will be moved into huge apartment complexes in the cities. They wont be able to afford cars or gasoline. They won't need it. They will walk to the job they are assigned.
It has happened before
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

It has happened before In my opinion, farms will continue to be "confiscated" by corporate and international interests. This will escalate. This has been happening in part because rural people have been and are ditching the country for the city. I guess we're getting some folks moving out of the cities to the suburbs or even farther but that's a different issue.

Jim Too much to type on my phone. These races are critical to defending the 2A and otherwise. If nothing else, divided government will give this country a chance to catch its breath and hopefully regain some perspective--on both sides. It will also give me a chance to buy even more primers. It would have preferred that the two Republican candidates hadn't flirted, or worse, with violating SEC laws. I have faith GA won't choke again.

Current prediction is, a blue wave. With full assistance of our gutless Sec of State and Governor. Abrams snapped her fingers and we get a double helping of the last with even more drop boxes and absentee ballots plus we get early counting with this one. They ain't even trying to hide it anymore.

I know of no one that has left the farm for the city.
Then you don't know many farmers or farm families. It happens all of the time--one way you can see it is the children of farm families that don't want to farm. They want to drink lattes and eat avocado toast. So they leave and the family farm ends.
