Well, "First" doc stop assessed a torn bicep, torn tricep, and torn pec chest muscle. No lifting anything over 5 lbs for 6 weeks, lots of ice and ibuprofen. "Second" doc is referral from first doc...and so I'm meeting with a shoulder surgeon this morning at 7:20AM to assess the rotator cuff. Couple of the exercises he had me do yesterday...you know...when you push outward or downward with your arm against my arm (docs arm) does this hurt? Couple of those I flinched pretty good and well, here i am.
Noah my 19 year old is home from college and in between baseball workouts with his buddies is running trapline with me. Last night we were checking traps and one of the farms we pulled into has several big old cottonwood down by the creek area. Our truck lights swept across those when we turned by the lane and one tree just lot up like a Christmas tree. We bailed out and ran down there. I held the light and he worked the 10/22 perfectly. He carried 3 really nice big coons back to the truck. Showed him how to skin those out last night too.
So, got me a trapper and a skinner, ha ha. No seriously he loves doing this. I was going to pull our little line but he said no he wanted to run it. He has a couple online finals to finish up and of course bullpens and workouts to submit film to his coaches back at college for accountability. So over his winter break we will trap together. Pretty cool deal.
I'll let you know what the surgeon says this morning.
Later all.
Jim

Well, he ordered an MRI. How did Tom Petty put it?? "...oh the waiting is the hardest part." This $50 coyote is really getting expensive!

Yeah sounds like it. I'm glad to see you are still in good spirits and that you have your son around.

Hope you get fixed up and everything is back to normal in a couple weeks healing.

Good luck with the MRI Jim. I have had a few and I don't like them. Of course the ones I went into I had to squeeze my arms tight to my sides and roll my shoulders towards my chest center to fit. Keep my eyes closed and went to lift my head and my nose hit within about 1/2" movement. I am a bit claustrophobic.

Not a laughing matter Jim. I injured my shoulder a couple years ago and being the stubborn fool I am I waited over a week before getting it checked out. It bled down to my elbow internally, was an impressive mess. My Doc also dragged his heals on diagnoses, appointments with specialists, surgeon etc. IMO. To make a long story short by the time I got to a surgeon it was too late. Complete tear of a rotator cuff muscle, too much retraction and irreparable. I live with a permanent injury, somewhat debilitating, constant discomfort and likely to cause me more grief as I age, apparently. Get on it! Yikes! A word to the wise, for sure.
