You might need a low pressure regulator between the tank and heater. I need one to run my 30,000 btu blue flame off a thirty pound tank
Eh...wot?

I have a coleman grill that doesn't work on 20s. I tried everything I could and still no go. I bought an adapter to fill 1 lb cylinder off the 20 and remedy the problem that way. The 1# tanks are way to expensive for as much as I use it.
Wish I had more time to trap....

The buddy's require a filter if running the rubber hose off a 20 or larger. Tried the filter and a new tank still won’t work right.

How old of tank? Your best off exchanging tanks every time vs filling them. When you exchange them, you know you are getting a clean inspected tank. It costs me $8 to refill 20 lbs at the Amish shop. How much do you spend on an exchange?

How much do you spend on an exchange? Be aware , exchanging your tank usually gets you less. Most exchanges give you about a 3/4 fill or about 15lbs. I only use the exchanges when my tanks are about or out of date . This way you get a tank that is IN date for certification instead of buying a new tank. Refilling , if you shop around for the lowest price is cheaper than an exchange.

It is always cheaper to get the refill. I just refilled a completely empty 40 pound tank for $19, where I would be charged $21 to exchange a 20 pound. As far as the inspection goes, they’re good for 19 years after date of manufacture and then you gotta get it inspected every 4. So much cheaper to refill. How old of tank? Your best off exchanging tanks every time vs filling them. When you exchange them, you know you are getting a clean inspected tank.

13 to refill here 21+ to exchange
Problem though is someone has put a bur under some saddles about certification dates. Got 20lb tank I got on exchange last year with a 97 date on it. It'll get exchanged when emptied. Got a 100lb that has an old date. No idea how or where to get it recertified or exchanged. Most places that refill them can recertify. Any company that delivers bulk propane in the area certainly will. I think it cost me 5 bucks last time to have one done. They pretty much just make sure it doesn’t have any damage and the seal in the valve is still good and slap a sticker on it.
