Excellent article and portrayal of a rough, challenging lifestyle. Some wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks for sharing. Wish I'd been born about 210 years ago.

Mule deer hunting around some of those streams coming down the mountains and valleys and day dreaming about me hunting the same areas the mountain men trapped was a awesome experience.

Went to the mountain man museum in Pinedale Wyoming when I was out there elk and mule deer hunting.A pile of information there and a awesome place to visit. I went there this summer on the way out to Montana. We stayed in an Airbnb 20 feet from the green river, right in the same valley where the rendezvous took place. Super cool place with a ton of history.

It was pretty amazing.

The big mountain man get together every year happened in Pinedale Wyoming. All the mountain men gathered there every year. I assume you're referring to the modern day Rendevouz? Between 1825 to 1840 they were held in various locations throughout the Rockies.

Nope where Pinedale is located the mountain men from around that whole surrounding area themselves would all met up there every year.If I remember right would spend the winters there.
