Good question boco. My guess is for the same reason they are above the law in yours. They pay for campaigns

I'm no authority on history but didn't a rather small percentage of colonials fight off the British in establishing this country? The liberals fled to Canada...northern provinces by the looks.

The Loyalists fled to Canada, Sir Wm Johnson’s son for one.

Those boys were outnumbered roughly 3 to 1, had no training, and only enough guns to fill the trunk of a sedan... And they held out for almost a month. And to finally win, the Germans finally had to resort to pumping the sewage tunnels full of poison gas and burning all the buildings to the ground.

I'd say some of the folks on T-man own more guns than all those fellas had. They shoot them regularly and know how to use them... And a good number of us are veterans.

Don't give up and go quietly.
