What we have had in October and a skiff here since we have it brown. Spring is going to be interesting with no rain that was even measurable since July 2020. Pastures are not going to be in good shape for us. Here is looking out the window all brown as far as you can see. A frosty morning with fog but dry and brown.

I'm not sure they ever left here. I see them everyday but there is a lot of good cover and heavy tree habitat.

A lot of years I have seen robins every month here abut some years there is a lot of them, and not sure they ever leave.

Not much winter here in Pa. We did have a freak deep snow a few weeks ago, but it’s pretty much all gone.

I talked to my buddy in Newfoundland today. No snow there to run snowmobiles... they call it Skidooing. He killed a moose off his Argo the week of Christmas....the back country should have been snowed shut by mid December. Winters there have been getting lighter every year. Woodland caribou have changed there migration patterns, and moose don’t yard up like they did 40-50 years ago.

Just guessing but as in past years the ocean currents in the Pacific are more then likely causing this warm winter. LA NINA is the culprit. When she passes and EL NINO comes up the cold will return but not this season.
Some years back during a LA NINA time I shot an elk in the middle of January. The temperature for two days, the day I shot it and the next was in the low 80s. A bit warm for western Oregon in January. It is ruining duck season also.

La Niña is supposed to make us colder and wetter. At 3:00 this morning it was 43, 10 degrees above our normal high and the wind was gusting to 40mph. There is no snow left and my small creek is well out of its banks. Maybe some teens the end of next week.
