two cheap Harbor Freight cement mixers and a turkey fryer burner.

heat sand and/or dirt in one; add wax; mix.

cool mixture in second one; while running.

Mine takes longer but I make double sure it’s dry so I stir it several times before waxing it, I like the heater under it idea. It gets hot I stir it with gloves on and I can feel the heat coming from the dirt.

I have had good luck in the sun, but it has to be sunny and at least 95 degrees. That is just laying the dirt on black garbage bags.
