Ask him where he went to boot camp and ask him what was the name of his drill instructor. If he pauses or stutters, he ain't legit. No one forgets those two items. Fort Ord- - - Sgt Coleman Lol. You’re right

SFC Burns, he was cool a Vietnam nam vet and an Old Guard soldier with the Tomb Badge. SSG Glover, still gives me nightmares. Ft Jackson, SC, New Hollywood barracks in one of the starship buildings directly across from Victory Tower. That was 35 years ago.

I actually don't recall my drill instructor's name. Boot camp is easy - Amarillo, TX - 53 years ago. When did they move to San Antonio? That's were I had basic at in 1999. As for remembering my instructor name, no chance. We had 3 or 4 different ones. Could probably pick out of a line up still. Ol dad

United States Army - 95 Bravo - Military Police - Ft. McCLellan, Alabama in 1993 - Drill Sgt. Timothy Frank and Drill Sgt. Wanda Blake. Never met two people I was so afraid of! Their favorite saying was "bleed in training, not in combat". Looking back after a few deployments, sure am glad they were good at what they did. I had my Chem/Bio training at Ft. McClellan in 1971 when going to EOD school. There sure were a lot of women on that base at that time.

I almost hate to bring it up, but the guy in your unit who rode sick call, milked his profile for all that it was worth and knew all the places to hide is to be considered a veteran too.
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. O Lord please don't let me be misunderstood.

We have about 70,000 Special Operations Forces at any given time lately, if you count both active and reserve members across all the branches. Not everyone who says they were in Special Forces is a liar.
Keith True statement. Quite a few MOS’s even within the SOF community - all have important jobs but not all are actual operators either so even “I was in SF” usually requires a little follow up. Plenty of tabbed guys move on to other jobs outside of the teams so there is a fair number out there. Old or current operators can figure each other out in about a minute, half that to nail a poser.

Paul I did my chem/bio at Redstone arsenal. And then off to Indian Head. I know all the training is now done in Florida, was there any where, location, before Indian Head? No, Indian Head Naval Ordnance station was the original EOD school as far as I know. We also went to Quantico for UXO training where we learned shafting. When were you there? I graduated from there in April 1972, then went back as an instructor from 83 - 87.
