Hate to burst you Shania lovers bubble but she has donated heavily to the anti-fur/trap organizations
I'd be interested if you could source that information. Ilene Twain was raised in the heart of trapping country in northern Ontario, Timmins area, I believe her father or at least a relative did some trapping and she may have as well. If I'm remembering correctly a step parent was First Nation hence the stage name "Shania". I'd be disappointed to hear this is true however nothing would surprise me with celebrities.

Shania Twain, whose given name is Eilleen Regina Edwards, was born in Windsor, Ontario and raised in Timmons, Ontario, with a brief stint in Toronto.
Twain grew up Christian,1 but practiced a syncretic eastern philosophy called Sant Mat with her first husband.2 The philosophy emphasizes meditation, yoga, non-violence, and eating a vegetarian diet–among other things.3
She kept her life very private during this time, so we don’t know a whole lot about her spiritual practices. We know she’s a vegetarian4 and that she practices yoga,5 but that’s about it. Regardless of the details, she’s obviously a spiritual person:
I’m always soul searching on a spiritual level. That’s a permanent occupation of mine, I think, for the rest of my life.6
But Twain’s been pretty (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) ever since her husband left her for her best friend, so there’s at least a decent chance she ditched the philosophy with the man.
Politics for the non-political Twain says she’s not a political person, or at least she’s tolerant of other viewpoints and wants to keep hers to herself:
I’m not the politician, and I just completely remove myself from that. I don’t have anything against or for any particular person or point of view on politics. I have my own opinions, but my songs don’t share them.7
That didn’t stop both Hillary Clinton and Al Gore from using her song, “Rock This Country!” during their campaigns.8 I guess they didn’t care that she’s a Canadian who lives in Switzerland.
Twain hasn’t come out for or against hot political issues like gay marriage, but she did get a shout-out from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) for being one of their “Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities.”9
I gotta agree with leftlane on this one - Its hard not to like a gal like Terri Clark. Even if she is from Canada! Lol and her music aint bad too bad neither ! Better than most of what hear nowadays

I was living in South Porcupine in 1978 and working Timmins yard. We drank at the Maple Leaf Hotel (Stompin Tom made famous). Eileen's old man would shove her up on stage with a guitar on amateur night every weekend, she was about 12 or 13 I would imagine. Her and Jack Diamond,a big Cree Indian were stars at the Leaf back in those days. I think I sang a few songs at the Leaf back then too, lol, cant really remember though. Back in the 70's there were about 60 drinkin hotels in the town. Real lively, rough mining town back in them days.Timmins is pretty dead nowadays compared to back then.

You're right on the age. She was the lead in the Vegas show at Deerhurst and headed the band at the Four Winds bar after the shows when I moved to Huntsville in 1985 when I was 21. She's a year younger then me. Very good times!

Yeah well what do you know? I figure all the Maine guys were still lookin at Less
Or Brian Adams.
Here I am trying to point out one of the few redeeming qualities of our stepchildren to the north and what do I get for it? Bryan Adams had it going on. He hasn't aged as well as I have, I wouldn't argue that, but the guy can sing. And like me, he has a way with the ladies. Not so sure about you guys.

So you admit you have a thing for Brian Adams which explains why you could never give an objective opinion of how good Teri Clark wore a pair of Wranglers back in the day.
