What's your pleasure, sweet or sour? I like them both, with a preference for sweet on bratwurst and sour with pork chops. Tonight, pork chops and sour kraut.

My family has been making kraut for well over 100 years. Never have had it sweet don't think I'd like it. Only thing we put in ours is cabbage and salt

I like sour kraut, the only kind I have ever eaten. Homemade was the best too. I also never met a pork chop I did not like but for the life of me, I can not imagine combining them! Not a big fan of caraway seed either but I would be game to try the Bavarian style or the sweet variety.

I like mine sour and I like it on or with just about anything. Never heard of sweet until last week.

My guess is most people have never tried the sweet, its not really sweet, just less sour IMO. I'm with you there. There are, definitely, times when the milder sweet stuff rules. And, no, it isn't really sweet, just a bit tangier, IMO.

Homemade for me. It's not as sour, at least mine isn't and the cabbage stays krispy.
Once in awhile I'll add a chopped onion and some sugar to the finished product and make a relish
