Truth be known a board room of executives at Subaru could probably care less about anything but good marketing and the bottom line. Exactly, a proper capitalistic drive will find you in bed with all sorts of folks, their money is green after all. (very green in this case) Capitalism is (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) bent on profits and done right, is blind to your creed, ethics, philosophy or whatever intangible -isms you espouse. If you wanna take the high road, then suffer some sales, no biggie and you can sleep at night.

I recently got a 2016 Subaru outback used with 100k on it that I use for hunting and trapping. It is good for what it is, I would rather have a toyota tacoma or a toyota of some sort though. When I was younger, my family took a 2001 forester on a road that was labeled 4x4 and we had 4wd so we thought we could make it. The road kept getting worse and worse but we kept going, it was more of jeep road and we really should not have been on it, but the subaru did get us out. It never did drive the same after that thought, then again we drove a similar road in a 2017 ford F-150 and it didnt drive the same either. I have never heard of stereotyping people for driving a Subaru, but I guess times are changing. I see a fair amount of them around here and my dad always had a subaru growing up and they were fairly reliable and you could get some miles out of them if you kept up on maintenance. That being said, I recently took my car in to get the oil changed at the dealership and they charged me like $125 which seemed like a lot. As far as cost, I got mine used for 15k and I would have bought a Tacoma if I could have found one in good shape for that much but I couldn't find any for that price unless it was like a 1999.I also dont want to get into the argument about what owning one means about you, I am just giving my two cents on the car and I hope it helps in the decision making. (If you can get a Tacoma thats what I would recommend because they are smaller than a full sized but they also can get through some rougher roads.) Synthetic oil is expensive! $125.00 is out of line. It is easy to change oil in a Subaru. The oil filter is right on top of the motor. My filters are on the bottom....The Mercedes turbo diesel has them on top though ![wink wink](/forum/images/graemlins/default/wink.gif)

I have to take my Subaru in to see why my millage is so poor. I am wonder if Everet the Mole Guy in the rear bumper will turn on those Sexy gal running around instead of someone from the same sex. LOL. I am glad I do not have to time to notice this BS.

They prob said they topped off all the fluids and rotated the tires to? (Like full inspection) A 5qt jug of Mobil 1 full synthetic and filter at Wallys is about $30.

THIS^^^ Do all Subaru owners do this? I'm sure they don't... But enough of them do that it has become a hilarious stereotype. When we see one on the interstate with all the stickers and Oregon/Washington plates it has become a fun game to see which stereotype the occupants live up to when we pass them. Mike
