I'm not a trap collector by any means but I have been buying a few traps here lately I picked this one up on a trade from a fellow member. But I have no clue what it is...my guess is homemade or prototype. It has big thick cast jaws and a pit pan system. Part of what makes me believe it's a homemade trap Is there is no place where an original pan would have attached. Also the base plate is kind of strange the frame is 3 pieces not including the base plate so the base plate is original to this trap I hope you guys can see what I mean by that in the pictures. If you guys have any input please share! Also I belive the springs to be #3 in size.

i remember something similar to that years back. i believe it was marketed as a beaver trap, and i think it was under the f. c. taylor name, which would be sterling fur. i never saw one personally, but remember the pics in the ads. im sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

My memory says it or similar trap was in an article in the TRAPPER or TRAPPER AND PREDATOR CALLER. late 70s or early 80s, during the trap mod craz. cast jaws look expensive,. number 3 victor base with another base welded on, number 3 springs, PIT trigger and pan. I will do some digging, maybe Tom Parr might know.

Another member also said it was an f.c. Taylor trap with coyote cuff jaws. It's really a pretty neat trap I might stick it in the ground next season and see if I can't make a catch with it.
