Practice with that and the artillery hold alot, they fire much differently than a PCP ,Pump or regular gun and they will not (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) accurately if you try and shoot them so

Sam explains it pretty well but basically springers have a double recoil . You get a recoil force fowards then back wards so shooting it like a regular gun with a single recoil just doesn't work. And the more powder it is the worse it gets.

Ya the hold plays a big role in consistent groups I have an old German made Howa thats been rebuilt it shoots one hole groups but i myself can only accomplish that 50% lol talk about trigger control too.

At those speeds domed or pointed will most likely be more accurate than flat point. And i know some company's make over or undersized pellets to help improve accuracy, good luck and enjoy.

O and don't get those super duper light pellets for anything other than dispatch work. Once you get over 1000 fps with light pellets accuracy goes to crap really really quick. And get a few to try. I promise you it will shoot some pellets better than others

You want pointed pellets, heavy ones, Beaman Silver Arrow pellets are the best I ever found. You still need your shots to hit flat to get penetration if you hit any skull or bone. They will glance off. They ARE NOT a .22 LR. and are not the best choice for dispatch but if you do everything right they will work. Very unforgiving. Practice a lot at 3-5' to be sure you can hit exactly where you want to, every shot.

I shoot those same pellets out of my Benjamin discovery and my umarex gauntlet "both pcp" and they shoot around 900 fps. Have never had to shoot anything I was dispatching more than once including coyotes and 50 pound and under wild hogs. Set up on a feed pile once with my gauntlet and killed 3 suckling pigs about the size of a big cotton tail. All shot behind the shoulders like you would shoot a deer. All clean pass through and none ran further than 10-15 yards.

This.
H&N branded are the same and a bit cheaper. Stoeger has them too for more money. Try Pyramid Air for the best variety. Don't use the cylindrical pellets designed for PCPs. You'll be very disappointed.
