You were mocked about sending money to pro gun groups because most of us did not believe you were sincere. I still don't.

Most of the time when gun owners vote for Dems. they believe the Republicans will stop them from any new gun laws. This is not one of those cases, there is no one left guarding the gate. If the filibuster goes, the country is doomed.

We all have our hot buttons, those issues that weigh more than any other when choosing a candidate in an election. For many of us it's the 2nd amendment because it goes to the core of the freedoms guaranteed by the US Constitition. It is apparent that although the 2nd amendment is important to you, it is not one of your hot buttons when you pick a candidate. Democrat polititians in the US HOR and Senate to a person support additional gun control measures knowing it will do nothing to stop crime. The data is overwhelming but completely ignored because it doesn't fit their agenda of disarming the populace. With regard to the 2nd amendment, the outcome of electing Democrats has been unchanged since the late 1960s or perhaps before. I don't know what you should do other than to start following your on advice with regard to candidate selection and do the "independent research and critical examination" you spoke about. You talk the talk, it's time to walk the walk.

I won't kick a guy when they omit a mistake. All we can do at this point is share our views with others in a positive way, lobby our elected officials at every level and be very particular about who we vote for in the future at every level. The courts will be the next battle ground but I'm losing faith in them. After that it will be up to states to stand up to unconstitutional laws. After that only two choices, fight or comply. Up to this point with the possible exception of the last election the government is chosen by the people and therefore they are accountable for what is happening. I don't see much hope in the values of the masses to change. People dying is not a concern of the left (look at abortion and the murders in some large cities) a person should really ask themselves why people that have armed security want to take guns from law abiding citizens. The picture looks pretty clear at this point to me but some will call it a conspiracy because they can't face the truth.
