Some of the late season beaver tails I've been getting don't seem to be high quality. Are they still usually marketable to those that buy tails (or desirable for tanning), regardless of the time of year the beaver is harvested?

Would you please explain why the late season beaver tails “don’t seem to be high quality”. What is the difference between winterbtails and spring tails.

Very interesting subject. Thanks

I guess you answered my question, thanks. It's probably just a fluke that some of my most recent tails have appeared less 'meaty' and were nicked up a little. I'll try & plan to sell beaver tails regardless of the time of year they are caught.
