Is a booger of a day. 102 at 2:00pm today which means hot weather tactics in play as well as understanding the coyotes are in full denning mode and attracting them accordingly. I'm a blessed man to be able to spend time outdoors with my bride getting after pesky varmints any time of year. It was so hot today, the Mrs. and I were stopping at game tanks today to douse ourselves. One thing is certain on the coyotes we catch this time of year, they don't get up and battle when you show up. Pretty much.... death ray me asap! Blessings, Mark

Sounds like bitey snake weather to me. Nah, even they got sense enough to stay in the shade in that heat.

One 5 foot rattlesnake so far. We usually get 1-2 a day. They are out in the am and I almost stepped smack dab on a 6 footer yesterday because I was so intent on following coyote tracks. Thing rattled and fled. He had me too if he wanted me and I was not in any "heart" condition to draw my pistola and pop him. Donna heard the rattle 150 feet away and yelled "snake." Yah, no kidding missy!

Donna is always smiling when she gets to use Lee's Death Ray. We had not been able to catch this coyote during our January trapping here.... but the Mrs. used a walk-through, totally blended set, with no visible attractant of any sort.... just a pinch of our mink lure Brown Sugar and BAM.... middle of the road dog! We have a motto: "They all die in the end. Some just take a little longer." Blessings, Mark

Thank you Zim. 105 today was another hot time but the rain moves in tonight and we'll get some relief. I can hardly recall those days of frozen fingers on my Michigan trap line Thank you for the request for our Lord's Blessings! Mark
