Too many of these big diamond backs will lay still and strike first, and only then do they rattle. 160user trapper 1 Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 19,495 MN	I was on a fire up north of Boise 25 years ago and we were swamping behind a dozer. All of a sudden the operator bailed off the machine and wanted a "fusee". About that time we were hit with a stench that was terrible. He got the fusee, poured a jerry can full of diesel in the hole and lit it on fire. He said as soon as he smelled it he knew it was a snake den and burned it. I just stayed clear of the whole thing. I have nothing clever to put here.

jarentz trapper J Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 656 pa.	My father had a bar in Montana! He had a contest for the biggest rattles of the week(a six pack) and the biggest of the month(a case of beer } He had 2- 1 gallon jar full of rattles. The biggest I can remember is 22 and a button. jarentz
