AIN'T MOMMAS ALL THE SAME

Mom showed up at my house one night about supper time. She walked in and jokingly asked what's for supper. I pointed to the big brown box on the table and of course she asked, what's that? I replied C Rations and asked if she would like to try some. She slowly said "sure" so I opened the box and said take your pick. She picked beans and franks, so I warmed them up for her and showed her how to doctor them with Heinz 57. I ate ham and eggs and she joked that it looked like Alpo, tried it and actually said she liked it. She called a couple of nights later and I invited her for supper but she declined and stated she spent most of the other night sitting on the throne trying to get rid of the beans and franks. After that little experience she started inviting me over for a home cooked meal pretty often.
