I assume that is for decoration? Its a fine looking piece of workmanship. Any straps? That has to be north of $225.00 As along as straps are of similar quality. Just my opinion.

The gal made these for use packing in to rendezvous. My friend has used his for going on 20 years to pack into events. My plan would be occasional use on a small muskrat and Mink line and public living history demonstrations. It comes with the material to make straps, which I am completely able to do myself, thats no problem at all.

Its an absolutely beautiful basket but I never buy from people that ask me to throw a number or give them an offer. Typically you end up either pay mote than its worth (dont want to offend them with a low number) or they reject your offer and think you're cheap. I hate playing the guessing game, but I know this guy's habits. We have been friends for 15 years or so. The basket isn't necessarily for sale, he just knows I am looking for one and he wants it to go to a good home. I already have a number in mind, was just curious what others might think.

Tell him 100.00 and he can visit it …anytime he wants. Tell him it’s going to a good home.

Figure out how long it takes to make something like that and offer a fair price based on that. Must be at least a days work in that.

Looks time intensive and handcrafted items i feel (from my personal experience) get under bid. Its also a really nice hand crafted item. Trade that horn out for leather and i might buy one. I would definitely start north of 200

I have many times more ash trees now than I did before the borers killed most of mine. As the the ash trees were dying, they put out millions of seeds and I have thickets of young ash trees now. The borers will probably come back through once my ash trees are big enough to be predated on. Keith

Yeah, not fond of the antler handle. Needs a 1 1/2 leather. And straps need to be of matching quality. Stand by my bid.

I'm in @ $225 or so. I have a Leo Hoeft original bought 10 or 12 years ago and I can't recall what I paid Leo.
