You would think they would have treated the nest with something to kill them all instead of just ripping it apart. Yep he did that just to make a video. Soak it at night with wasp killer or even some gas and the majority would have been dead before swarming. But then he wouldn't have gotten as many views.

Pah ..... two cans of chicken and 24 hours and job done So you tried it and it worked? Obviously , I'm not Michael, but yes it did work. Like a charm. I got some of that liquid too, mixed it in a can the same way and that worked. In 3 days. There's a longer thread on all this that Michael himself started , that considers this product and some videos to go with it.

Oddly, I've been doing the chicken bait here and still have yellow jackets coming to the hummingbird feeders. They haven't switched to protein yet. They should in the next week or so. I'll have to freshen up the chicken and "secret spices". I had that happen also and thought about possible cycles from wanting water to protein. Also- it is terrible smoky all over from fires . I recalled how smoke affects the activity of honeybees and I wonder if smoke does the same for hornets-that and hot dry weather. Fortunately, this horrible high system is leaving right now, getting cooler, and the air is markedly more clear. Blew all the smoke right out. And regional rain is finally due about everywhere starting tonight. But normal hornet activity is different this summer. They normally want the suet I have set out for birds . Not this summer. All they want is water in my bird bath and the sugar water from hummer feeders. Something to be learned here on behavior patterns, I think. Even so, that can of chook meat mixed with the poison still eventually did the trick.

It is my understanding that yellowjackets start looking for proteins during the late summer and early fall in order to feed the queens. I have read that in a few different publications.

Not enough NOPE in the world to convey how that freaks me out. I would walk into a house full of rattlesnakes before I would do what that guy is doing.

I’d toss on in a few (several) bugs bombs I don’t mind dealing with them when there’re dead! LOL
