Somebody may have mentioned it already, but Sportsman’s Alliance has a promo that when you join as a new member you get a free year of Huntstand.
I have both and they are both very helpful. OnX is a sponsor for the Trapping Today podcast, there are a few episodes on the features and how trappers can use it.
Might be helpful to you.

The ability to download maps and not need a cell signal is priceless, especially when going into the middle of nowhere. I used it last year in the UP of Michigan with great success. It allowed us to cold roll into an area without knowing anything or anyone. We were trapping public land so we did not care about who owned it as long as it was public. It also gave us the ability to know if trails went somewhere or not. I used it on my IPad also , which was great, I highly recommend Onx Hunt.

Iowa,
Love the onx chip in my gps. The app was too slow under heavy canopy or in the swamp areas for me.

I use it a fair amount, but don’t assume its all perfectly accurate. Property lines are usually off some,’and I’ve seen large amounts of state land off limits to hunting labeled as “public hunting” land. Luckily I knew it was wrong.

I have it for all 50 states and love it and I also have the Wy chip in my GPS. The app will have property lines IF your state has a GIS mapping program because that is the information source that OnX mines. IF that is the case then you can find the same property boundary/ownership information from the county GIS for free, but with a bit more work. When I lived in Ky they did not have GIS and I think they still don't. Here in Va we have GIS and each county has it's own program so you have to learn to navigate different software depending on the county. OnX makes it a lot easier because it is all in one program.

The individual state chips allow you to access the same detailed mapping information using a GPS independent of cell service and you can see where you are relative to property lines. You can also load OnX on your cell phone and as long as you have cell service you have the same info the chip provides but with a slower response because it has to download. However, you can download selected maps to your cell phone and have the information for that map regardless of cell service. The phone GPS function is independent of cell service so many folks just use their phones. An obvious advantage of this method is the much larger viewing screen and easier navigation.

The free trial is a great way to find out if your state info is available.

I use it mostly for locating traps. My poor old memory ain’t what it used to be. Just gotta remember to set a way point every time I set a trap.
