All of you guys demanding consistency in elections: Do you want the feds taking over the power over elections from the states/
Jim Clueless Jim, "All of us guys" want the rules set out by each of the State Legislatures to be followed. That did not take place in too many States in 2020. The feds are barred from taking over the power which the States have for election rules in their States. That pesky Constitution spells that out specifically.

Regardless of how you want to spin it now, I did make a sexist assumption: that women don't fight for their country too.
And so did you. But you don't want to talk about your own sexist assumption--that he handed his ballot to a girl-- do you?
As for my "holier-than-thou" attitude, can I count on you to point out when I'm acting that way? Mere disagreement with your own opinions doesn't qualify.

Anyone else see something? I think there's a troll trying to get a fight started. You showed up, all right, and right on time too. He trolled my thread and successfully got it deleted. Payback isn't always gentle. Jim Anger is such a petty emotion.

Your words, not mine. Why is God so full of wrath? Wrath is petty, an expression of frustration and powerlessness.
His creation did what He made them to do: choose. Why get angry that it didn't go His way?

Can't see any harm in having a day off to vote, as long as you prove you did so to get your pay for being off !!
Have a stamp at the ballot area and a receipt to show your employer that you did so, not much of a problem still gives the person the responsibility of showing they voted instead of just turning over a ballot that tended to walk out the door last election.
You know quite a bit before the election to make time to do so if you wish to get paid for it, no receipt no pay, but it's your responsibility to get the receipt for pay !
Leave the computer counters out of the process lock the doors when the time is over, cameras on the counting watched by several different entities, ballots don't enter or leave until finished counting and then only in locked boxes in convoy to storage.
If we don't get some sort of control over the ballot process we probably won't see another election thats honest again !
Sorry if my opinions or replies offend you, they are not meant to !

I didn't think you'd need me also to point that out, since pretty much everyone else on here already does.
Oh I make plenty of sexist comments. Not denying that. But I also don't pretend to be a champion of all experiencing any type of oppression due to their gender/sexual orientation/etc. the way you do.
Just give me one thing, that I can hold on to. To believe in this livin' is just a hard way to go.

Thanks, but speaking out for what I believe doesn't make me a champion.
Do my words make you feel guilty or something?

sure make it a paid day off IF it is also required that you vote IN PERSON
each candidate on the ballot provides a representative to watch the ballot box from the time it is sealed till it is fully counted .
if at any point counting stops all ballots must be placed in a locked cage and must still be watched until the count is done and at the end of each batch they must be sealed in a plastic bag with a security sticker serialized the results of that batch printed on the top page so it can be read through eh plastic.
giving people the day off would better allow them to participate and be ballot and election observers
we need an air tight election plan or we loose all faith in government.
that is very bad for everyone . Quit being an enabler. Most people that don't vote, don't care either way and wouldn't vote anyway. It's really not that hard of process. It's a person's responsibility to be an adult and make adult choices. If they really want to vote, they will. People getting free handouts from the government sure don't have a problem following the process to receive it. I understand people will do what they want to do I am more thinking of it from the how do we incentives more elections observers and poll workers . if we do this can we get a truly air tight election? I am likely to be working any holiday any way , as an essential worker. If I didn't have work I would go work the poll. I will give in to a holiday on the condition I get an air tight election process from it.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

3.5 million truck drivers. Many couldn't vote because they are over the road. Many people cannot be home and or cannot get off work that day. How about the military? Salesmen? FAIR??? It's called absentee ballot.
