I am also not on board with giving these groups any additional notoriety.

We have a particular “grass roots” organization that fits the bill, similar to other regional movements that Allen, BC, and others have mentioned. The group operates on the umbrella of protecting, but gives no concessions to the consumptive or commercial users of the resources.

Yes Blaine just like , many groups that appear pro user really aren't and as was mentioned are chipping away at consumptive users rights when it comes to the use of renewable resources .

I was once asked to do a pet release clinic at a Pheasants Forever Banquet right before election day when we had I-177 which if it would of passed would have ended trapping and snaring on public lands .
Fortunately the folks who watched and listened were open minded and even those who didn't like trapping or snaring changed their minds each person thanked me for donating my time .
As you know I -177 was soundly defeated not just because of this one evening but that of many in the MTA who are willing and able to put forth the effort to promote snaring and trapping in a positive light then convey that to people .

So this is my challenge to the members on here and to those who lurk to join your trappers association and become active and go out and give educational talks to groups because none of us have the multi million bank roll some of these groups have at their disposal .
I want my grandkids to have the opportunity if they choose to snare, trap , hunt and fish as I'm sure you do as well for your kids and grandkids .

Many of our State Fish and Wildlife agencies either fit this description or are rapidly moving in that direction due to the influx of woke progressives into top leadership positions. I'm sure we are not alone in this but if you are looking for an example pay close attention to what is going on in MN as they "reimagine" the organizational structure of DNR.

Also worth noting is that the indigenous peoples, particularly here in SE AK, are moving to lock up lands and resources that belong to the citizens of the United States.

Not trying to ruffle feathers, but while we are on the topic. Operating within the system under “protection” is rather convenient, for some players.
