Gear wrench is popular now at least their ratchets are craftsman still sells automotive tools https://www.craftsman.com/products/automotive-tools/mechanics-tool-setsDewalt has moved into the automotive and hand tools market and is supposed to be good Millwakee had also moved in to the hand tools market I have mostly Craftsman , ace hardware sells them , you can order them online I have a little Kobalt , some dura craft and whatever brand napa has , I at a point where I need a specialty wrench from time to time and just get it at napa when I get my parts. impact sokets I have so no names off amazon when you can get a set for what one socket can cost of a good one , well if you break it , no big loss in 6 point impact sockets I have't broken many when I did it was mostly cause I beat them on a nut with a 2 pound maul then hit them with the impact

Pawn shop is a place to find good tools cheap. must have different pawn shops out there , I don't think I have ever seen a deal in one around here. 70% or better of new retail for beat up tools

I know the old craftsman were quality but not sure about the new stuff True. Since Stanley bought them out , I've noticed some are from China now , not all but some. Watch what you buy.

Pawn shop is a place to find good tools cheap. And check estate sales, maybe yard sales too. Not all of my tools are Snap on, maybe about 70%. If you're doing it for a living, I recommend biting the bullet and getting Snap on ratchets, sockets, and screwdrivers. I have a lot of Craftsman Professional tools. As far as air tools, I have Snap on impacts. Not very impressed, Chicago Pneumatic and Ingersoll Rand are good. And get Snap on punches. They won't fold if you're working out a tight roll pin.
For by grace are you saved by faith, and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Do Craftsman tools still come with a lifetime warranty? Menards and Ace sell them now never see anything about warranty any more.

I know the old craftsman were quality but not sure about the new stuff I couldn't destroy a Craftsman adjustable wrench if I tried but their ratcheting wrenches didn't hold up very well for me. I thought they had gone completely under when Sears folded.

My early years was as a Fleet and HVY mine equipment mechanic. I spent way to many thousands on SnapOn, Mac and Matco
If I was to start over in today's world I would buy Husky or Kobalt hand tools and just the specialty tools off the trucks. My son has a roll away filled with Husky and I find myself using those more than the SnapOn's Ive used for thirty some years,

Don’t buy the built in ratchet wrenches they were made to break better for home or putting new items together tough bolts will destroy them.
