Glad to see you're still killin' em.

Good job with your daughter! Best wishes to her.

I’m gonna have to come down when your not in hurricane season and see this hog operation. Looks like a lot of work but a real rodeo once the trap fires, lol . Kris could you run them little one through the sale barn as feeder pigs ?

GB. Transporting hogs in Alabama is a crime. Its almost a felony. Highest misdemeanor you can get. Like 2500 dollar fine

Steeltraps what type of bait do you prefer for your summertime trapping. It seems to be working. I just started some summertime trapping myself and have done good with Cavens Hiwatha Valley and gusto. I did notice the pipe on some of the sets . I feel it cuts down on some of the ant problems you have especially in the summer .

Slipknot. I use mostly flat set. Because of ants. BUT when I see a place that doesn’t have ants on the ground. I set a pipe in the ground. I like muskrat meat from MB

That’s crazy y’all are getting rain. Think we are close to two weeks now with none and none in the forecast until middle of next week. Not complaining though.

Wanna Be its been WAY to wet in bottom west of Alabama. My hands look awful. Putting on wet gloves makes them crack and bleed when you set enough traps in wet gloves everyday LOL!!

What have you settled on for an underall/pancover for all those sterlings?

I just use the same one I use for my MB 550's Its Underalls from FNT trapping or MB = I think its Underalls A . The round 1s that fit on 1and 1/2 traps. I adjust the MJ 600's down to 3 lbs then leave the pad. I have my traps preloaded with underalls so I just grab a trap and set it

Steeltraps, how are you adjusting the Sterlings down to 3 lbs pan tension?

Steel,

Do you ever reuse the underalls after a catch? Or just on remakes?

Mully. You have to file on them. VERY carefully. A little at a time. Then keep testing them with pan tester. Its a SLOW process

Seek. It depends. I have used the same underall in Texas to catch 9 coyotes in a remake. So if its penned inside the trap. With no blood or feces on it then YES I may use it at a remake. But would I reuse it on a clean set some where else? Probably No. But I do re use them often on remakes IF they are not just rolling around in the catch circle

Chris - thanks for the photos of your adventures and the information that you learn and share.
You are being a good Dad taking care of your daughter. It makes your work more meaningful and you can share her success in school and in her career.
For cleaning up the 74 traps do you use a pressure washer? I need a new one. Built a small platform with backstop boards so traps don’t fly around and easier to spray clean.
I was thinking about your tires that could get a beating.
What do you do to prep new traps for dipping?
What dip do you use?
How long after dipping before setting?
At flat sets do you use lure and urine?
Best wishes!
