Just got over three week bout of the stuff. My wife was in ICU for almost two weeks. Important to watch her for pneumonia as it only took me two days to get that after being diagnosed with Covid. I wouldn't wish this stuff on anyone. PRAYERS SENT!
No matter where you go...there you are!

Thanks to everyone who sent prayers or best wishes. So far as I know, Pearl's condition is unchanged. Which is good news.
Some may think it odd that a self-identified agnostic would ask for prayers, but my son Paul, a devout Christian, asked me for prayers. I thought I'd recruit some prayers from experienced pray-ers here.
When Cormac McCarthy, probably our greatest living writer, finally appeared on the Opra Winfrey show, breaking his career-long pattern of refusing all interviews, Oprah asked if McCarthy believed in God. He replied, "Sometimes I do." I'm the same.
The color spectrum shows more colors than black and white. People are like that too.

Pearl is doing well! Her father reports that she's quarantined in a room, playing video games and feeling like a princess because her mom brings her meals. Pearl's siblings are home from school too, on an extended summer vacation.
I'm now in a hotel in Monticello, MN. I can go smallmouth fishing tomorrow without worrying about her. Much.
Either my fears were exaggerated, or else the prayers helped. Maybe both. This experience gives me something to think about.
Thank you for the prayers.

Good to hear she is better, Jim. A FB friend in western Alaska returned to the vill 2 weeks ago with 3 of her kids. All tested neg. before departing to Unalakleet and on to the vill. She is a 30 something woman in good health but overweight. Day or so after arrival her and her youngest, a 6 year old girl, got sick. Positive tests. The other 2 kids stayed at relatives after the positive tests and never got sick. She posted daily on they're condition. She is vaccinated, the child obviously, not. Both got the usual flu symptoms but nothing serious. She got just as sick as her unvaccinated daughter. Pearl will now have something of great value. IMMUNITY. She will not get this virus, nor likely any variants, again and best of all...............she is now a member of the population that will not SPREAD this virus. We should all be so lucky. Odd your son, his wife, and other kids did not get sick.

Glad to hear that she's doing better Jim. Reflection of the important things in life are always warranted as you state.
Blessings, Mark
