Do you remember what time of year?

Video is always better than photos.

Things are heating up. Bucks are working scrapes minutes behind one another. I’m taking that is favorable for the hunter?

Short hunt this morning, if you can even call it a hunt. lol

I walk in and go pass the stand, hunting from the ground today. I get situated, Hit record on the phone and make my first call.
4:14 in, a gun shot rings out south of me.
5:45 in, I call again.
12:15 in, a doe has snuck up on me to my right, 5yds away she sniffs some small twigs in the path I took in to we’re I’m standing. My anticipated route is to my left so I’m not setup for any kind of shot to my right. I’m a statue. She alerts to my presence but doesn’t know what to make of me. She foot stomps a couple times. Finally she “swooshes” and bolts a short distance. She stomps again. Other than slightly breathing, I’m motionless. She comes back and repeats her stomp and stare. She makes a finally decision that something is a miss and walks off “swooshing”. She does this stopping and looking back at me every 5 to 10 yards as she leaves my position until she is no longer in sight. I finally move, turning off the video. I say video but the phone was against a tree so all it captured was audio. The whole thing took 17minutes and 21seconds.

Hobie, it was early November if I recall correctly. I was using a bow, not a gun. If I remember right, I had to wait until after the shotguns were done.

The shot was hopefully on the marsh (waterfowlers) and not deer hunting. Gun is not in season yet regardless of what kind.
