wolfie, there's nothing in Mississippi that you need a .308 Norma magnum for. I'm not sure what Hydropillar uses it on in SD except smack his shoulder a bit harder than needed and maybe do some longer range whitetail dumping out in the Missouri Coteau country... grin

you have to be super specific around here or they will jump all over you

308win brass made by norma

you must get a lot of loading in Norma brass to make it worth that 500 pieces cleaned and shipped cost me 60 somthing last year mixed head stamp and I swear some of it must have been fired in a Machine gun for as far as I had to size it

but once sized you would never know

I neck size 308 once I have it fired from my guns it stays in boxes labeled for each gun

You dont need anything but a 12 gauge to kill anything in N. America, but we're Americans. We dont let little things like need stop us.

As long as it's not too tarnished or scabby with verdigris, I don't care if it's been deprimed and tumbled... I can do that myself. My Lee Universal Depriming die makes short work of it... Even military crimps.

I see lots of places that sell mixed headstamp brass... Mostly .223/5.56 and .308/7.62

I'll take any brass I can find with matching headstamps or at least mixed stamps from one manufacturer such as different years of Lake City... But the mixed commercial/military stuff is pretty much worthless. There are a few places that sell brass sorted by headstamp, and it's the first to be sold out, even at the higher price they charge for it.

There's a website where folks trade brass but the activity is pretty low. It'd be nice to have a big one so folks could sort it out and streamline their operations.

And I'm with Wolfie, Federal brass is crap... I have some in .308 and 300 Win Mag. You don't have to worry about CHS, the primer pockets will go before that's an issue. Although the .308 has held up better than the 300WM.

Gators.

I'd take a 155 Howitzer along if I thought I might have to deal with those. Lol

308 h and h magnum,308 norma magnum, 300 win mag, 300 weatherby magnum shoot the same bullets to the same velocity. The cases are different but ballistically identical. Like I said, we are Americans. We do tthings our own way. If a guy in S.D. likes to shoot a 308 norma mag and a guy in AZ wants a 300 weatherby mag and a guy in OK wants a 300 win mag then thats what we will have.

I agree... with the amount of modern powders and bullets available almost all 30 cal can do the same thing... comes own to barrel length and quality of barrels....i sure like the way the big 30s drop a deer with the power of thor !! never need to go far with a well placed shot.... shot my 30-378 wby 3 times this year twice at the range and once at my buck at 300 yards ..... why cause i like to drain my powder keg so it dont go stale and i like to see the big muzzle blast !! lol
