Here is a Big Nasty that weighed in around 300 pounds.

Birds work these baits hard during the day.

They will deplete this big boar in about three days..

The fold pictured is the lower part of the shoulder plate that protects the boar during fights.

I've witnessed big boars shot with some of the fastest bows made and still not penetrate their shield.

Hogs this big are built like tanks.

It is always fun to go search for points left behind by the people of days gone by.

I wish I could see what the wildlife and land looked like back in in the old time, and how families made a living in this unforgiving landscape.
I bet the hunting and tracking skills of the folks that lived here were second to none.

There is just something about finding a point that has laid there in the dirt for hundreds or thousands of years until you picked it up. That's pretty special in my book.

A cool little bird point was one of the first finds.

Found this long skinny point in a small sandy wash.

This is an unusual shape for around here,

You often find broken pieces, but it is rare to find a match.

Today was an exception.

A few hours in the field well spent.

Those are " close your eyes and visualize " type finds.
Very cool.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

Awesome Tejas!!! Well it’s kill window time again. These came in when I had the dang window down. I waited for them to get nervous and leave when a car went by then I opened the window. Look close at the field pic they are both there. One is just 5 or 6 yards from the window. Shot a third but hit him back a bit ( trotting) he made it to the RR tracks. 22 hornet. That makes 158 out the kill window.

Hey Yote !

Good to see the Kill Window aka the “Snack & Sniff” is open for business !

Coyote traffic is just starting to pick up in the last week around here.

I hope to have enough activity to set on before the month is out.

The Winds of Change have been blowing. '

A Bad Moon is rising.

You know trouble is on the way.

This old buck is super cautious. It took him several days to get close enough for a good photo.

Notice the unusual white patch on his back leg.

[Linked Image]

Old bucks like this one eat every bit as good as the young deer when they are rolling fat in the early season.

That will all change in the next two weeks.

How old do you think the one with the odd white on his leg is?

He looks like he might have been around a year or 10 smile

The young gun is impressive

Great pics

We have some cool looking birds down along the border.

The Green Jay stays here all year long.

It has been a really dry summer and fall.

The brush and critters here could sure use some much needed rain.

How is the quail population down there?

Practically non-existent up here anymore but I remember years ago being down there in South Texas and seeing covey after covey of bobs and blues

Awesome pics Tejas. Bucks are chasing hard here. Saw six different bucks with does yesterday.
Another Yote visited the kill window. Shot at 10 yards but he was a runner.
