Why is it that no supply dealer offers JUST THE WIRES for sale for each size bodygrip? They want you to buy an entire new trigger and bracket.
Some trap supply manufacturer should do this. Im putting the idea out there. I would buy em by the dozen or two if available. Good stiff wire...ie, stainless steel, etc.
What are some of y'all using for replacement 330 wires?

I've used the wire from markout flags. These are the little flags that are used to mark out underground utilities. The wire is exactly the right size and stiffness and you can still bend it to the shape you need.

Didn’t someone on here say they use a metal clothes hanger? poor alloy, too soft and no heat treatment. I would use music wire of the proper gauge,

I've got a large roll of copper coated wire I use to make replacement wires. I think it was old telephone wire.
Ive heard of people using bicycle wheel spokes.
Poor people have poor ways.

Yes ! Glad you mentioned that. I have several larger rolls of that from my neighbor who worked for the local telephone co. Copper clad high tensile steel. We used it for many things. It's a bear to twist an end loop in by hand, fights ya all the way. Thanks !

I use old electric fencing wire but I'm sure there all sorts of options.

Bicycle spokes not long enough for 330s. Nor 280s. Spokes are adequate for 220s. And are stiff enough.

I've been using Terminator Triggers, which have stainless steel wires, and I've never had to replace them. Some have been on over 10 years.
It might be something for someone to consider marketing just wires, especially if they're stainless. Ive looked at those, but have to buy the bracket to get em so that's turned me off.

Wires would need to be cheaper than buying entire trigger. Will have to look at various supply catalogues for prices. I'd pay about $10/ dozen for stiff 330 wires. Market? How many trappers use bodygrip traps? All break wires....so... Im having about half dozen break every season. I dont have a press like you, but these could be made with a homemade jig.

Didn’t someone on here say they use a metal clothes hanger? I’ve used coat hanger before for smaller traps with good results. For my 330s, I only use one type of wire, and it’s perfect. It’s from a big coil I found in my grandfather’s barn from years ago. It’s 11 or 12 gauge galvanized wire. I call it tension wire, but it may actually be called something else. I cut pieces about 2 feet long, put the halfway point over a 3/4” wide piece of steel and strike it with my maul then finish bending it into halves. It fits perfectly in the trigger yoke and I tighten it. Twist them together to make a T, clip any extra off and done. I use belisle factory triggers until they break then I replace them with these homemade ones. To this day I haven’t had to replace one of these triggers, and I use them constantly. They’re tough.
