We would all like to go peacefully in our sleep...but that sure wasn't what it looked like for John. Hope he didn't suffer too long. My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

I have an elderly friend who lives alone and he approached me a couple of years ago about doing welfare checks on him. He has a heart condition among other ailments. He sends me a text message every morning indicating he is okay and I always respond to let him know I received it. I thought it was rather morbid at first but now it's routine.

Having no living family was probably a very lonely life, so his passing may have ended his loneliness and was a blessing. BP, for a few minutes that day you were his best friend and family, and you did what needed to be done to care for him. I am sure he appreciated that and even in death is thankful you were there for him.
