I'll disagree a bit here. The PPP saved many, many large and small companies. I have 3 employees and although I won't say it saved me from closing, it DID save me from drastically reducing what I could
do for my employees. Hours, benefits, layoffs, etc. I was pretty much able to keep them employed at full hours and benefits in a very poor sales time. You (the government) just can't expect companies to not be
open (mandated) and expect them to survive.

There was a big group of people that were getting UE checks for well sbove their former job. That money had to go somewhere and there's only si much money you can spend streaming movies all day
