get an old truck HD rubber inner tube and make your own leggins. Seen others do it and seen they work real well.

I have some turtleskin snake chaps that I purchased used and a pair of snake proof gaiters. We have lots of coppreheads, massanauga and timber rattlers here. The timber rattlers can be nasty. Most folks never see them...

The gaiters also cover the top of the foot.....with chaps you need to wear heavy leather boots to protect the foot.
