I have been around for 77 years. I have never seen butter go bad. I grew up in the deep south and still live in the south, but the (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) half backs are changing that here in NC. I can't remember ever going to a grandmas or aunt and uncles house that there wasn't a butter dish out on the counter or table and it stayed there 24/7. Now folks used the butter, it didn't sit idle for weeks or months but once a stick or cake was put out it stayed out till it was gone. I have never seen mold grow on it nor it get to where it wasn't usable. Most butter has salt in it unless you intentionally make or get unsalted. I can only think that the salt helped to preserve it.

No idea what the deal on fake butter is nor would I have or use any of it.

If you’re concerned about the expiration date of butter you are not eating enough butter. I suggest you make 10 lbs. of Syracuse salt potatoes and invite over some friends. And don’t spare the butter or the salt.

Is there a run on butter? Seemed pricey to me.
