A good trapper never stops learning. Your mind should always be like a sponge.

That I am good at, I eat information constantly and my current obsession with trapping has had me reading every article and watching every video I’ve been able to find for weeks now.

Ok so you been reading and watching videos I assume. I would get a couple game cams, cheap $28 dollar walmart specials will work. Cheap Dollar store dog/cat food rig up a dirt sifter of sorts. Go make some "no trap" sets right now in some secluded spots, find some sign, dig a practice dirthole or pocket set. Bait them up set your camera to catch the action. Then go back in a few days and check cameras as if checking traps. Just something I had done testing my homemade bait concoctions and I been trapping since I was a schoolboy, almost 60 now. The sifted dirt will show some tracks maybe, just imagine a trap pan there somewhere. Also all the other advice given before me is rock solid. The one think about this place, is if folks find you sincere, they will help any way they can!

I appreciate the advice, I asked my buddy if I could borrow a few of his cameras and I’m going to do just that! I would like to test some baits anyway!
