had a great uncle that worked at a slaughterhouse in marinette area of northern Wisconsin, when we went down for visits in the summer he would often have smoked cow tongue to share. I have have recently been offered one (fresh) & would like to know if anybodys done anything besides smoke & slice thin.

Boil it and eat it cold. Makes great sandwiches!

I like it on tacos. Local place cooks it in a thick spicy stew and it’s great! Extremely tender with some good heat to it! Good stuff!

I had it on tacos. I believed the restaurant boiled it, than seasoned it and cubed it for taco meat. It was alright, but just regular beef tacos work for me.

My neighbor had me try it this way. He boiled it forever. I'll admit it was pretty good.

I had it once. A friends mom made tater tot casserole and I had some. Nothing special, green beans, tater tots, cream of mushroom, burger. Afterwards my friend asked how was supper. I said OK, I had 2 plate full. He said it was cows tongue not burger. Tasted find to me.

But I like all kinds of strange stuff. All chicken guts. Heart, liver, gizzard. Blood sausage. And other things the old lady calls gross things!

WISH I HAD MORE TIME TO TRAP!

Nope. Once was enough. Never again. It wasn't chewy like other meat gets chewy. It was chewy like little cubed memory foam meat pillows. Yuck.

My Grandmother used to pickle it. As kids we got started eating it that way and loved it. Very good sliced in sandwiches too, like many others have said.
