We have those at some of our boat ramps here In Dane county. And most of the ramps on Lake Michigan have those set ups on the WI side..

How strong are those grinders? Would they do a whole muskrat? Asking for a friend.

Seen one take a piece out of a steel washer some joke tossed in one once it cooled down. Catfish heads are a problem plugging them up at times. I believe they lose power when heated up.

He's 14, more of a life goal, but thanks for your input! Maybe in a few years, lol, just hope he's happy (and gets me some good hunting/trapping opportunities)

Seen one take a piece out of a steel washer some joke tossed in one once it cooled down. Catfish heads are a problem plugging them up at times. I believe they lose power when heated up. they have a solenoid valve that dumps a steady flow of cold water on the Lake Michigan ones I have seen to cool the grinders any time they are running they also have a timer on the wall or post you hit the button and it runs for X minutes then you can hit the stop if you want or it will turn off in time they ask you chuck up the big carcasses as for heads around Racine if the fishing is good the Asian fellas get word and will hang out around the cleaning station asking for fish heads. dad got to where he tells them sure , your bag and will just line them up on the cutting board for them . because they don't always bring a bag and dad puts everything in Gallon ziplock freezer bags so you get to giving away a box of the freezer bags in short order and that isn't free.

If I ever were to move to another state, it would be South Dakota.

Greenpete= the start of shark fin soup the carotene boiling those heads one of my dads friend is married to a Korean woman , her mother was getting all the fish heads until my dad found out she was selling them to other Asians he wanted no part of the selling of game fish parts so once he knew about it she got cut off to just a few here and there. with WI DNR who knows what their sense of humor would be on that , he didn't want to find out. had she been giving them to friends it would have been find but , that wouldn't have be very Korean would it.

We have them here in west Michigan. The charter boats seem to have first load use of them though. Draws a large group onlookers when several salmon are being cleaned… dad and I often thought it would be funny to roll up with some pike or gills and start cleaning right along with the charters…..
Surprisingly they stay in decent shape here
