Ever hear, "I just want my kids to be happy." Randites.
And this happiness chasing and advocacy, which has great intentions, has been the demise for many in their quest to "be happy."
Life isn't about happiness which is fleeting, it's about joy which remains and sustains.
I deal with young people and over and over in the PICU's the parent/parents/baby daddies/baby mommies tell me something quite commonly;
"I just wanted them to be happy and now this."

Chasing happy, Ms. Rand, is a road to nowhere.
