Thanks for sharing your excellent photos and videos. You have great skill and talent. The beaver pond with the huge dam is fantastic!

When we have returned from Alaska we look through some of our photos and videos which are also good, but they never capture the grandeur and spectacle of the moment. Honestly, we rarely look at them again.

The first time we went to Alaska we stayed for 3 weeks. When we came home, we were in a real depression for quite awhile. We felt smothered - and we live in a beautiful place with no close neighbors.

By your presentation I can tell that Alaska got into your soul. When are you going back?

The 2 pics of salmon you posted are of reds/sockeyes. Did you catch some of them?

I missed this one. it was one of my favorites. That's pioneer peak and the Butte taken from lazy mountain. I was there for 2 weeks and I'd like to go back soon. A winter trip would be great but I think expensive. They were catching reds near Soldoltna when I was there but I didnt go. The ones I got pictures of were in a viewing area somewhere on the Seward hwy. I did all of my fishing on the parks highway

As White17 said “now you have the disease” Lol. I went on what I considered a once in a lifetime trip to Alaska fishing for a week in the summer of 2016 and have returned 4 more times since and plan to go for at least a week every summer. It’s in my blood now. I got severely depressed when I had to cancel my 2020 trip due to COVID restrictions. I love catching the chums as well, but boy can some of those sockeye really take off like a rocket. Absolutely beautiful country. Glad you enjoyed.

Great photos! Looks like you had a good trip. Next time you should plan to hike Pioneer Peak! It's a great hike.

I started up it on the last sunny day I had. I was sick and had an infection. I was well above the treeline when I sat down and fell asleep. When I woke up I just didn't have it in me. Pioneer looking up the knik river

I've had the disease for awhile now. Everyone thinks I'm going to move there but I don't think I'll leave my family

Hey Square timber, we probably just missed each other at the Anchorage airport. We flew in on Friday Aug 26. Heading out for a halibut charter in a couple minutes.
