Smart marketing. I bet it sells. More companies should do this too.

Good American made files. Seems like most nowadays are from Brazil or China, and they don't seem to cut as well. Nope, been straight to find a good small file set for gun work but they all seem to be crap

I'm always looking for misc tools even if they are broken but they have to be cheap. Garages sales or auction sales I do good. The only thing better is a scrap pile! That is pretty cool.

One thing I've always look for is - ' roadkill tools ' I've found lots of tools in the road. Over the years enough to fill a small portable toolbox. Sometimes with roadrash from being run over. Run of the mill , sometimes cheap stuff , maybe good stuff too. Took a lot of stuff back to Sears for brandy new ones Sharp turns at intersections are a hot spot. I tell friends this all the time , don't put tools in your bumper because you will forget and I will find that stuff in the road. I average 2-3 tools a year that I find. Last tool I found was a 10mm deep socket.

Anvils. Very hard to find , even harder to find at a decent price in good shape. If you have a good one ( like I do ) buying another one is easy to flip for a few bucks. Very large ones (500lbs+) are like hens teeth. I've been looking for a Anvil for years at a reasonable price, farm/Ranch auction's are crazy prices. So I did one out of railroad track. Works good for what I do. But look for vise grips for welding, any U.S.A. made tools.
Let me sugar coat this

Metric adjustable wrench. Believe it or not , such a thing exhists. They have made adjustable wrenches with a slide in the handle with detents at common sizes like 1/2" - 9/16" instead of a thumbscrew. Metric ones are out there too.

Bear - that is a work of art!
I have bought many good USA made tools over the years. Began at about age 12. When looking at tools now, I am surprised by the poor quality of most tools and the high price of decent tools.
About 10 years ago, I bought a very nice 250 pound anvil that rang beautifully because nobody else could remove it. The price was right at $5.

Tip to find a good anvil , cheap - visit your local scrap dealer , tell them you are willing to buy anvils at far above scrap value say , $.75 - $1.00 a pound. I have gotten several this way and flipped them for $2.00 a pound. Harbor Freight sells 'anvils' fairly cheap but they are junk. They don't hold up. Most people call them 'ASO's ' - short for 'anvil shaped objects '
